Gymnema (Gymnema sylvestre) is a climbing shrub native to India and Africa, used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine, particularly to manage blood suagr and support metabolic health. Its Hindi name "Gumar", means "sugar destoyer", because of its unique ability to suppress the taste of sweetness.
